Pimphandhang (aka Kenji Ko) plays weird electronic music by redefining his PowerBook G4 and iSight into an instrument, G4ettoblaster. Which is an sound generator that combines modern technology with the retro urban culture. It mimicks ghettoblaster, the portable stereo system capable of playing radio stations or cassettes at relatively high volume, back in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

By using digital technologies, g4ettoblaster is not a cassette player. However, it is a “vision player” that sound generates by its computer vision. An iSight is equipped with a custom made programme. Depends on the color of the pixels, it will generate different beats continuously by analyzing the pixels one by one from the iSight vision.
